NCTDA FAQ's

2200 Airway Ave -  Ft. Collins, Colorado 80524

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. When does the next class begin, and how soon can I start?

Call for the class schedule at (970) 690-8846.

2.    How many other people will be in class with me?

Only 2 students per class - maximum

We believe that "one-on-one" classroom and field training is easier to comprehend, more relaxed, and safer for our students than a class packed with nervous strangers.  You ask - we answer!  Simple as that.  No waiting, no embarrassment.   Classes are taught by respectful certified CDL instructors.

3.   How long is it going to take before I'm employable?

Class duration is approximately 2 weeks.  Surprisingly, you'll be driving and earning that all important paycheck in a heartbeat.   Classes are conducted during normal working hours: Monday - Friday   8am to 5pm.

4.   Do we offer job placement assistance?

Absolutely.  Over The Road (O.T.R.) companies we recommend to our students have made a commitment to review our student applications, interview, road test, and evaluate for immediate employment.

The trucking industry is in need of nearly 1/2 million new drivers at any given time.   We refer our students to reputable companies that treat drivers with respect (rather than as a commodity) and they're motivated to get you home often.   Similarly, we are often the first to know when local employers are actively seeking drivers.

5.   Does my driving record reflect on my ability to drive for a living?

Certainly it does.  It is nearly impossible for us to place a student with a D.W.I,  D.W.A.I. or a Reckless Driving charge within the past 5 years.  Therefore we do not accept students with poor driving or criminal records - unless there is a provable pre-existing job offer available to the applicant upon completion of the class.

6.   How much did you say this would cost?

$ 3495.oo  This price includes all textbooks, a CDL Permit, fuel surcharges, CDL Drive Test, and your Colorado Commercial Drivers License.    (No hidden extras.)
We accept VISA and MasterCard.

7.  You said you'd assist with financial aid?
Does your school offer financial aid?

We focus on teaching professional driving skills.  We actually let the banks do the financial stuff.   However, our school has developed an excellent working relationship with Wells Fargo and Chase Bank.  Therefore, our 'referred students' regularly apply for, and receive, personal loans or credit cards to cover school enrollment with a $3500.oo limit.

8.  How long does it take to get financial aid?

Credit approval usually only takes one day.  In some cases approval is instant.

9.    I'm already broke!  How am I supposed to pay for a loan!?

Once you're hired as an O.T.R driver most companies will reimburse paid school tuition up to $5000.oo at the rate of $125.oo per month for each month of employment - up to the full amount of tuition paid to the school attended (according to the student's transcript). That's a hard deal to beat!
