You
Should Also Be Aware...
There
are three parts to the CDL
test:
 |
Vehicle Inspection,
or Pre-Trip
|
 |
Basic Control Skill
Tests
 |
Road Test
|
|
|
The test itself is progressive - you must pass each of the above
listed parts in the order they are listed before moving
on to the next test.
(EXAMPLE
- you must pass the 'Pre-Trip Test' in order to move on the the
'Basic Control Skill Test')
Should
you fail at any point, you must start at the beginning again.
The CDL Test is $175 -
each
time you take the test.
Roy
Hansen & Associates is committed to teaching clients the
skills necessary to pass these tests, so you won't suffer costly
retakes.
* Although
it is impossible to guarantee a passing score to any student or
client as human performance in testing conditions is
unpredictable. However, we provide everything needed to
successfully pass these tests in the classes we teach and with the
materials we have available.

Effective

“Double
Clutching” mandate
If
you are operating a non-synchronized transmission such as a 9,
10, 13, 15 or 18 speed, you MUST be able to perform 'double
clutch' when up / down shifting.
There
are 42 points that rate your ability to shift appropriately. During
the road test portion of the CDL test you may
ONLY accumulate 25 points total. Improper
shifting alone can cause Test Failure if you can not
perform this function properly each and every time you shift.
Here
are 3 options:
1. You can bring an
automatic transmission vehicle to take your test with. The
towing unit must be over 26,001 # and the trailer must be over
10,001 # for a full Class “A” license test with Air Brakes.
2. We can teach you how
to double clutch, however, we can’t do this the same day as
the test and it does take some time to master.
Cost $75
per hour.
3. You can hook your
trailer to our Automatic Transmission tractor and take the
test. Not having to worry about the gears or clutch and
you can concentrate on good driving behavior - this is less
expensive than failing the test and repeating it.
Retest fee is $175
and you MUST start with the
Pre-Trip Inspection again.
Tractor rental is $200
with your trailer
Tractor rental with our trailer is $225
By
law, we MUST give Compliance 3 day notice prior
to taking your test.
This
rule also applies if retesting is required.
MORE DARN RULES:
Class “B” same
rules apply. If you need to use an automatic we have a
bus available - however, you must have a “Passenger”
endorsement on your permit. This will require you to go
to DMV and take the “Passenger” test and add that
endorsement to your permit. We cannot let you drive the
bus w/o this endorsement.
Also, if you are
driving a tanker for the test you are taking, you MUST have
a tank endorsement on your permit.
Again
the 3 day scheduling delay still applies.

EFFECTIVE
AUGUST 1, 2004:
DUE
TO NEW RULES AND REGULATIONS WE ARE NO LONGER ABLE
TO PROVIDE A PICK-UP AND RETURN SERVICE FOR DRIVER APPLICANTS
AND/OR VEHICLES FROM REMOTE LOCATIONS TO THE TEST SITE.
DRIVER APPLICANTS MUST ARRIVE WITH ANOTHER LICENSED DRIVER
(AND QUALIFIED VEHICLE IF APPLICABLE) TO THE TESTING SITE TO
HAVE THE CDL TEST ADMINISTERED.
